Rev. Connie Thomas at Mt. Zion Methodist Church offers their fellowship hall as clinic space during off-hours.

A Clinic For Healing and Hope 🕊️
The name "Luke's House" was chosen after St. Luke, patron saint of physicians as a response to the need in New Orleans.

Initial Funding 💰
The Methodist Conference donates $180k to run Luke's House for 2 years. A doctor from New York donates all his medical supplies.
The First Directors 🥇
Dr. Sue Berry joins as the first Medical Director and nurse Jiselle Bock joins as first Clinic Director.

Luke's House opens it's doors after 1 year of planning, providing free health services to the community.

United Methodist Church would rent Luke's House a large house on Simon Bolivar Ave for $1/year to use as their new clinic.

The locally growing uninsured latino population became our main focus after many years of work with our community.
